If you think of the word “beach,” you don’t really associate it with winter, or snow. BUT we’re here to tell you that Wasaga Beach should be on the top of your list for things to do in winter. For your convenience, we’ve put together the perfect weekend itinerary to show you the winter wonders that Wasaga Beach offers!

Day 1: Check in, beach walks, and gourmet foods!

On your first day, you will check in to the unique and charming Board the Boat B&B. Choose from three luxury studios – all with top amenities, kitchens, high-speed Internet, Smart TVs, great outdoor spaces including gardens, fire pit, bbq, and outdoor covered dining area. Seconds to the beach and minutes to Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Creemore and Wasaga.

Once you get settled, get bundled up and make your way over to the beach for a scenic beach walk. See Georgian Bay in a way you’ve never seen before!

By now, you’ve definitely worked up an appetite! Make your way over to Catch 22 Gourmet Foods. Known for its gourmet steaks, seafood and so much more. Within a couple of years of opening it was the Number 1 restaurant on Trip Advisor for Simcoe County. Eventually Catch 22 grew into creating a Gourmet food shop, offering soups, salads, cheeses, main courses and all the delicious food Catch 22 is famous for. Enjoy a yummy meal and head back to your accommodation to get some rest!

Day 2: Treats, winter fun, and board games!

Wake up in your cozy boathouse and take advantage of the kitchen included to make breakfast and sip some coffee before heading out. If you rather enjoy the local businesses, stop at Grandmas Beach Treats for some coffee and baked goods before landing at your destination for the day: Wasaga Nordic and Trail Centre.

The Wasaga Nordic and Trail Centre is one of the best places to spend your winter when in Wasaga Beach. Located in the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, there are over over 30 kilometres of groomed trails for cross country skiing, 10km trail system for snowshoeing and option for fat bikes. On top of the beautiful surroundings, you might get lucky and be rewarded with wildlife viewing as white-tailed deer and winter birds are always roaming the area. The Centre is opened from December to March so there is plenty of time for all your outdoor adventures!

End your day by warming up by your indoor fireplace with some wine and board games!

Day 3: Paintball, axe-throwing or archery!

Before you head back home, have one last outdoor adventure by visiting Wasaga Adventure Park! They offer regular and low impact paintball, airsoft, laser combat, archery tag, NERF wars, and axe throwing. The park contains 13 unique fields on over 70 acres of beautifully wooded, themed terrain to get your imagination going!
