Meaford Hall is a historic landmark located downtown and hosts live theatre, music, films, dance, entertainment and community, corporate and social events. Beautiful Joe Park
This park is 8.5 acres and is located on the banks of Bighead River in Meaford. The park was named after “Beautiful Joe” who was a pet to Margaret Marshall Saunders and the main character in her books. Visit Beautiful Joe’s burial site, service dog, k-9, 9/11 and Margaret Marshall Saunders’ monument and a memorial bench for Peter Francis. Facilities at the park include washrooms, picnic tables, hiking trails, a leash-free, fenced dog park and a pavilion that can be rented. Sunny Sunday tours are held from noon to 2 pm running July to August and last about 20 minutes. On August 31 from 11 am to 1 pm take part in the Pooch Pool Party at Meaford’s Blue Dolphin Pool which includes competitions, contests and prizes.
Memorial Park has 468 metres of shoreline along Georgian Bay close to Meaford’s downtown. The park has a campground, washrooms, a concession shack, two pavilion shelters, playground areas, a mini-golf course, trails and free parking.
