Theatre Lovers Rejoice: A Live Experience to Stream at Home

In the midst of cataclysmic change across many industries in the wake of the pandemic, the performing arts have been among the hardest hit. “The good news is that we know from history that artists come back after disasters, stronger and more creative than ever,” says Erica Angus, Executive Director, Theatre Collingwood. In this spirit—and with live theatre on hold for the time being—Theatre Collingwood has adopted an innovative model to deliver their experiences directly to patrons.

During this holiday season, Theatre Collingwood is offering two streaming productions.

A Christmas Carol

This year they’ve shaken up their dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carolwith an all-female cast. The show is professionally filmed at The Simcoe Street Theatre and will be live-streamed on Friday, December 18. Those who purchase a link can watch the show at their leisure from December 18 to December 20.

Links are just $25 (+HST) and will make an ideal gift for friends, coworkers or clients. A Christmas Carol, with its messages of empathy and redemption, is especially fitting this year.
