March Break is just around the corner! Thinking of signing your child or children up for a program or two? Below is a list of some of the many programs taking place in South Georgian Bay during the week-long break.

The Wildlings Camp

Allow your child to spend 3 days immersed in the wilderness! They will learn important conservation values, survival skills and important leadership skills in a independent learning environment. Collingwood Museum

The Collingwood Museum has three great children’s programs lined up for this March Break! 8th Annual Shenanigans (March 17): It’s that time of year again! Let’s celebrate all things Irish with our wildly popular St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans program. Box-car Drive-In (March 18): Let’s make our very own drive-in theatre! Design and create your own cars to cuddle-up in and watch a show. Light up the Night (March 19): Illuminate your imagination with this neon-inspired program. See the world in a whole new light while making electrifying crafts. Register online today here! Free Spirit Tours – March Break Forest & Nature Camp

Spend your March Break exploring the wonders of Forest and Nature School.  Children lead the way with their interests and ideas at the forefront, while being guided through a specialized week of Forest and Nature School with a focus on nature-based adventure, building outdoor skills and free play as a core component.  Free Spirit Forest and Nature Camp will excite your child’s love of the outdoors, as we play, create, share and explore together. March Break Drama Camp – Theatre Collingwood

Join Theatre Collingwood for a super fun week at MARCH BREAK DRAMA CAMP! March 16th – 20th 9am-4pm at The Simcoe Street Theatre Ages 7-11 years $175 + HST per week Our MARCH BREAK DRAMA CAMP is so much fun! It’s a great way to learn all about theatre arts. Our qualified instructors LOVE theatre so much and make the camp a very comfortable and fun learning experience. NEW! This year our camp will include a ticket to see a wonderful children’s show starring the amazing puppeteer Adam Prouxl! Drama Camp is for anyone ages 7-11 years. No experience necessary. Our goal is to introduce campers to the wonderful world of theatre, to make friendships, to build self confidence……and to have fun! Subsidized tuition is available when needed. March Break at Blue

Featuring: Toronto Maple Leafs Pop-Up Rink, Astronomy Shows, Birds of Prey, Magic Shows, Music, Drumming, The Amazing Race, Wildlife Shows, Fireworks and so much more on and off the mountain! SATURDAY, MARCH 14 Start off your March Break with a day of free activities for the whole family to enjoy! Try your hand at giant games, meet the Village mascot, be amazed by the magic show with Sawyer Bullock, and take part in groove dancing at the Village Stage! SUNDAY, MARCH 15 Strap on your skates (or borrow some) to skate along the Toronto Maple Leafs rink at the front of the Resort. Join in on giant games by taking your pick of jenga, bean bag toss, connect four, and the ball maze – or better yet – play them all! Ever wondered what being a rockstar is like? Learn a thing or two from Bambalamb, our resident drummer, today at 1pm in the Events Plaza. MONDAY, MARCH 16 Test your knowledge today by attending one of the three Birds of Prey shows happening at the Water Street Bandstand. The Canadian Raptor Conservancy combines education with entertainment to teach you about raptors and their important role in nature! Never tried a beavertail? Now’s your chance! Sign up for the BeaverTail eating contest taking place at 3pm today on the Village Stage. Each contestant must eat 1 cinnamon and sugar beavertail in record time – YUM! (16 participants max!) TUESDAY, MARCH 17 The Amazing Village Race is back again this March Break! Create a team name (max team size: 6) and sign up in the Events Plaza any time between 1-3pm. You’ll be racing against the clock as you try to complete all the challenges around the Village in record time. Not satisfied with your first score? No problem – the Amazing Village Race will be happening Monday-Friday during March Break. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18 Watch the OYU dance performance today at 1pm and again at 3pm at the Village Stage. Their skilled, choreographed routine will leave you wanting more! There will be a dance lesson with the instructors after their performance so you can dance with the stars and learn an afro inspired dance move too! THURSDAY, MARCH 19 Learn about your place in this vast universe! Take an awe-inspiring scenic tour of amazing astronomy discoveries and bizarre/extreme things about the universe with your host, Tom Vassos. This will be held in the Westin Trillium House, Whistler Blackcomb room at 3pm both Thursday and Friday. FRIDAY, MARCH 20 Fireworks will take place at 8PM on Tuesday and Friday over the Mill Pond! Enjoy the beautiful fireworks display before or after you walk the Blumination Dream Trail. Keep an eye on our social media channels for weather updates (@BlueMtnVillage) or download our app and turn on PUSH notifications. SATURDAY, MARCH 21 The Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue team will have live animal demonstrations and a Q&A session at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm at the Village Stage both Friday and Saturday. Get up close and personal with some of the friendly creatures they bring to the Village today!

March Break Kids Camp at Living Water Resorts

Monday March 16^th – Friday March 20^th, 2020 at the Atoka House – Cranberry Golf Course (27B Harbour Street, West, Collingwood ON)

Our March Break Camp for children ages 6-12 hosts a variety of activities including Art, Science, Drama and Sports. Campers will enjoy a different theme daily while they complete art projects, create science experiment and play active games. Pick-up and drop-off will be at the Atoka house, but your child(ren) will utilize different specialized areas of the resort, throughout the day, based on the activities scheduled. Our March Break Camp is designed to keep kids active, learning, safe and having fun! Limited Spots Available – Book Now!

Join the L.E. Shore Memorial Library during March Break for fun activities! March 16: Tour of the Universe Planetarium The Blue Mountains Public Library and the Ontario Planetarium will be kicking off March Break 2020 with with an amazing tour of stars, planets, moons, comets, galaxies, meteor showers and the Northern Lights. March 17: Constellation Jars Join us at the Library on Tuesday March 17th at 11:00am. We will be creating beautiful illuminating constellation jars. Come in and make the night sky in holdable form. March  17: Adventure in Digital Arts: Space Exploration Join us and The Blue Mountains Creators Space for Adventures in Digital Arts: Space Exploration. This workshop consists of exploring drawing, sound design, and night photography and is all about space and astronomy. March 18: Sidewalk Astronomy with the RASC Meet us at the L.E.Shore Library on Wednesday, March 18th from 11:00am-12:30 pm, for an opportunity to see our closest star through a telescope. The RASC will be here and, if the skies are clear, they will have a telescope set up outside to show you sunspots and solar flares..  You can also learn how to safely observe the Sun from home. March 18: Black Holes – RASC Have you ever wondered what Black Holes are and where they come from?  What does gravity have to do with Black Holes? If it is black in the dark night sky, how do we find a Black Hole?  We will answer these questions and more in a hands-on activity and discovery session at the L.E. Shore Library with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. March 19: Adventures in Digital Arts: Space Exploration The Blue Mountains Creators Space will be teaching Adventures in Digital Arts: Space Exploration.  This workshop consists of exploring drawing, sound design and night photography and is all about space and astronomy. March 19: Painting the Solar System Meet us at the Library at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 19th. We will be painting our very own Solar System. No experience necessary, just bring your creativity! March 20: An Out Of This World Story Time and Craft Meet us in the Story Tower for an out of this world adventure. We will be reading about planets, stars and learning about our galaxy. We will wrap up all the fun with a super cool MOON craft. Highlands Nordic – March Break Day Camp 2020

Join us for March Break Day Camp to enjoy the outdoors! Build shelters, learn how to cross country ski, explore winter on snowshoes, learn mapping skills, make crafts, travel through time to see how maple syrup is made. We will be either skiing or snowshoeing each day. Ages: 4 to 8 Cost: $250 for the week or $50 a day. Includes a hot lunch, 2 snacks per day and all applicable rental equipment.
