The Spaulding School of Arts is an art school based out of both Collingwood and Wasaga Beach that offers a different approach to learning. At the Spaulding School of Arts they believe artistic expression is something that wells from deep within. They have created a new standard of learning that transforms seamlessly to any form of art and artistic expression. Through the Spaulding Method, you never have to conform to a group or a rigid teaching method; instead their method conforms to you. The Serendipity Candle Factory is one of downtown Collingwood’s fan favorite’s for a few reasons. Not only does it smell like you’ve entered heaven as soon as you walk through the doors, but they offer a wide selection of soy candles with hundreds of different fragrances to choose from. The best part is, they also offer candle making workshops! Yup you heard that right you can mix and match your own scents and make four wonderful candles of your own that you will cherish or maybe give away as a gift. You are the chemist while you choose which scents will pair well with each other and don’t worry, a wonderful staff member will be there to assist you and give you any pointers if needed. From choosing your scent combinations and learning how to lay your wick the proper way, to pouring the wax, this unique experience is one like no other! Each workshop allows you to make a four pack of your own candles for the price of $55, each session is between 45-60 minutes and you get to experience and learn about the whole candle-making process! Note candles will not be ready to take home until the following day. It’s time to get your creativity rolling and take home your own decedent smelling masterpieces!
Located on Hurontario Street in downtown Collingwood, the Paint Bar is the place to go to channel your inner Picasso! Ranging from a variety of different workshops, you can be fully submerged in creating your own masterpiece that you can hang on your wall or have as a centerpiece at the dinner table! The Paint bar offers workshops for painting your own pottery, canvas painting, and glass fusion. They also welcome guests to attend there events that occur throughout the year for a set price (event calendar can be found on there website). All studio workshops are priced with a studio fee ($6 for canvas and pottery, $8 for glass fusion) as well as the fee for your pottery pieces/ glass pieces which vary in price. The canvases cost $26. The Paint Bar encourages you to stop by and enjoy being an artist for a day where you can let go and just let the creative juices take over!
Hello Pottery Co is an innovative art space located on the main street in Collingwood. This space was founded with the intention of creating a place where anyone and everyone can slow down and enjoy the meditative & ancient practice of creating with clay. Not only do they offer an online shop with a variety of their curated selection of quality goods, but they also offer in-studio clay workshops, pottery in the park workshops, and private lessons. Crock A Doodle is a family-fun interactive pottery studio located in the heart of Blue Mountain Village. At Crock A Doodle they offer a wide spread of pottery pieces to choose from such as mugs, plates, and bowls that you can design and paint yourself! Come with the whole family, a fun girl’s night out, or a creative date and let your imagination run wild! Crock A Doodle welcomes walk ins but they recommend making a reservation during busier business hours (mostly weekends), reservations can be made online through their website. Once you have finished creating your beautiful masterpiece the Crock A Doodle staff will kindly and carefully hold your pieces for the week while they professionally glaze and kiln-fire your pieces to perfection. Your Pottery will be ready for pick up during the week you create them. If you prefer to doodle from home Crock A Doodle has you covered! With their Doodle-to-Go kits you can enjoy the fun of Crock A Doodle pottery painting on your own time and in your own space. Pop into the studio to pick up a kit and take it with you for birthday parties, team builders, family reunions, cottage/camping fun, patio parties, or simply to enjoy your own private painting escape. You can drop your pieces back off at the studio when you are finished to get them glazed and put into the kiln-fire.

They offer a wide range of workshops, private lessons and summer camps that range in categories such as kids programs, adult workshops, summer kids camps, photography, family workshops, and travelling workshops. Located in the heart of Creemore, Ontario is the active Mill Street Art Studio that showcases a variety of different art pieces done by Creemore’s own; Sue A. Miller, Martha Bull, and Liz Eakins. Not only is there art showcased and available for purchase, but as it is a professional working art studio, the staff welcome visitors to pop in by chance or by appointment to get a first hand look at how the artists create their beautiful masterpieces. Although there are no workshops being offered at this time, this observation experience allows visitors to really learn about the artist’s process, ask questions and see the materials they use. This is a unique, small town experience that is intimate and authentic, you will leave feeling inspired and it is an experience you won’t forget!
