August 15 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until August 29, 2021

Love a good story? Especially about animals?

Come celebrate the animal / human bond with a member of the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society! In July and August, one or two of their Board members of the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society will once again be conducting walking tours of Beautiful Joe Park.

When: between noon & 2:00…. on sunny Sundays
Where: Beautiful Joe Park – 162 Edwin Street in Meaford

Enjoy loads of history and wonderful anecdotes.

The walking tours are 20-30 minutes on level footing, and cover:
• Who was Joe and how his story unfolded
• A brief history of the remarkable author- and how she came to write about Joe
• The past, present and future of this gem of a park
• The monuments, Paradise Islands, the Society – and those who helped develop Meaford’s Beautiful Joe Park into what you see today
The tours are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

The Beautiful Joe Heritage Society promotes the unique and timeless tale of Canada’s most famous dog and the impact his story had on the world. Although the story was nearly lost over time, they have worked diligently to revitalize it since 1994.
The story is real;
It is part of Meaford and Canada’s rich history;
The demographic of animal lovers is huge, therefore so is the audience!

Learn the story and be an ambassador to this unique park and timeless story! You’ll be glad you did!
