A Weekend with the Kids in Wasaga Beach

Wasaga Beach is the world’s largest freshwater beach that stretch more than 14km on beautiful Georgian Bay. Wasaga Beach is a vibrant community that offers many amenities for families and kids of all ages.

Not that kids get bored with the beach, but sometimes they want something more exciting to do. Here are a few things you can do on the weekend.

Day 1

Nancy Island Historic Site

On your first day you will visit the Welcome Centre which is located at the entrance to Nancy Island Historic Site. All questions about Wasaga Beach and local attractions will be answered by knowledgeable staff. Nancy Island Historic Site represents the HMS Nancy’s battle against three American schooners on August 14th, 1814. Along with artefacts of the HMS Nancy, the island houses charred hull. Join heritage costumed staff members and learn the history of the Nancy and participate in hands-on historical demonstrations. Climb to the top of the Great Lakes 19th Century replica lighthouse to get the best views of Wasaga Beach.


Wasaga 500


After visiting Nancy Island, make your way to Wasaga 500. You will find go-karting, batting cages, mini golf, and a snack bar on site. The go-kart track is one of the longest in the world. Their karts can reach speeds of up to 40kph. They also offer the option of limited speed capable go-karts for inexperienced drivers and side-by-side carts for children to ride with an adult. There are 9 baseball and softball cages for all levels. Bats and helmets are supplied, or you can bring your own. Throughout the two mini golf courses you will find fun characters and a variety of structure challenges. Need a snack, the snack bar offers hot dogs, French fries, gravy, and soft serve ice cream.


Movie Night Under the Stars

After a fun filled day, come over to the main beach stage located at beach area one to enjoy a movie under the starts. Don’t forget to bring your own snacks. There are movies for everyone. They include, American Underdog, Mary Poppins Returns, Lion King, Jurassic World Dominion, and Dolittle. All movies start at dusk.


Day 2

Wasaga Adventure Park

Ready for more fun? Bring your whole family to Wasaga Adventure Park, they have fun for all ages. They offer paintball, laser combat, archery tag, low impact paintball, Nerf wars, axe throwing, airsoft, and escape rooms. A variety of options and prices are offered. You can rent equipment or bring your own. The pro shop has everything you need to continue your paintball equipment.


Skull Island Miniature Golf

The fun isn’t over. Come to a tropical paradise and explore the uncharted Skull Island. You will find pirates marooned and guarding their treasures. The 18-hole mini golf has a ship that can be boarded, beautiful murals of the Caribbean, music playing, palm trees swaying and a waterfall cascading into on of the pools.
