A Weekend in Collingwood
For so long now, it’s been advised to stay home and “plan now for your adventure later” while looking at images of picturesque sunsets over Georgian Bay and the Collingwood Terminals. Well now it’s “later” and we’re here to help you plan your weekend getaway to the wonderful town of Collingwood.
Arrive at Living Water Resort and check in to your clean and luxurious room.
Head downstairs to Lakeside Seafood & Grill for dinner with a waterfront view as the sun goes down.
Spend the rest of the time before lunch exploring the many shops and pop-ups that Hurontario Street and the surrounding area has to offer. Stores like Collingwood Olive Oil Company and the Body Bar by Kalola Botanicals make for exciting additions to a traditional shopping strip.
The afternoon will be spent out for adventure on Georgian Bay with Collingwood Adventure Voyages! Choose from a selection of tours, charter fishing, sunset cruise, shipwreck snorkeling, or a lighthouse and Collingwood heritage tour (just be sure to book in advance). Collingwood Adventure Voyages departs from Collingwood Harbour which is just a short walk along the waterfront trails from your picnic lunch at Millenium Park.
Across the street from your hotel, you will find Heavenly Cafe and Press Market for your choice of breakfast treats.
Finish with a late lunch at Station on the Green (Collingwood’s largest patio). Conveniently located at Cranberry Golf Course and providing a stunning view of the Escarpment.
A jam-packed morning and late lunch leaves just the right amount of time to pack up, check out, and head home and start planning your next weekend away to South Georgian Bay!
Planning to visit South Georgian Bay in the near future? As Ontario slowly re-opens, so do our local businesses; however, many tourism-related operators, shops and restaurants are operating differently than normal, by reservation, or are still preparing to open.
